The pitch itself is natural grass.

Historically, the stadium holds a specific memory for those who follow Spanish football. On May 8, 1977, it hosted a match between Real Burgos and Athletic Bilbao that drew a crowd of 15,000, a record that still stands for the venue. More recently, it has become a home for the Spain women's national team, hosting a qualifier against the Czech Republic in April 2024.
