The Almaty Central Stadium The first phase of construction began in 1955, and the ground opened its doors in 1958. It was built by the Soviet state with architects including Adambek Kapanov, and it has remained a fixture in the city ever since. The original structure has been reshaped several times. Major renovations took place in 1997 and 2004, followed by a more extensive overhaul between 2010 and 2011.

The playing surface is natural grass with synthetic fiber implants, a hybrid turf installed during the 2009–2010 renovation. Modern running tracks, made by Kanpur-M and Konica, run alongside the pitch for athletics, a reminder of the stadium’s broader purpose. The current seating capacity is 23,804. The address is 29/3 Satpayev Street, with entrances also opening onto Abay Avenue and Baitursynov Street.

This is the home of FC Kairat for domestic league matches and most European competitions. There are no other regular alternative home stadiums for the club in Almaty. However, scheduling conflicts have occasionally moved them elsewhere. In August 2026, a UEFA Champions League qualifying match against PFC Levski was moved to Turkestan Arena because the Central Stadium was booked for a concert. There were also reports in late 2024 that Kairat might play European home matches at the Astana Arena due to planned reconstruction, though this was not confirmed as a permanent move. The stadium has not been renamed for sponsorship purposes; it remains officially known as Almaty Central Stadium. The official website is centralstadium.kz.
