Rundsporthalle Waiblingen

Built between 1971 and 1973, the hall is a piece of Baden-Württemberg civic infrastructure. It belongs to the style known as the Rundsporthalle, a circular sports hall type constructed in the state during the 1960s and 1970s. The City of Waiblingen owns the property, and the hall has consistently carried its original name.

Inside, the capacity is 763 places. There are 483 fixed seats and approximately 100 standing places, but 180 additional movable seats can be brought in when the crowd swells.

Their women’s handball team played in the German Handball Bundesliga during the 1970s and 1980s, and returned for the 2022/23 season. The venue also held matches during the 1994 Women’s European Handball Championship. It has been renovated several times, most notably in 2009 when the roof was replaced, and between 2017 and 2018 when the facade was renewed.
