Sala Sporturilor „Romeo Iamandi”

Its defining feature is a maple oak parquet floor installed in August 2018, built from Canadian oak slats covered with four layers of lacquer and laid over natural rubber and plywood. The building itself was painted orange during a renovation completed around 2011.

The capacity sits at 1,868 seats, though the hall can hold up to 2,500 when the barriers come down for a concert. It is a space for handball, where HC Buzău 2012 plays its home matches. The visitors have included heavyweights from other cities: HCM Constanța played here in the EHF Champions League in 2011, drawing a crowd of 1,500 to see Chekhovskiye Medvedi, while Dinamo București used the floor for the EHF Cup in 2016. The hall has also hosted combat sports, such as the Local Kombat gala in 2008 featuring Cătălin Moroșanu versus Freddy Kemayo, and more recently Heroes MMA 16.

The building opened in 1982 and is named after a former local handball player and referee. It serves as a neutral ground for events that do not fit elsewhere in the country. Roxen performed at the Romanian national final for the Eurovision Song Contest here in 2020.
