Salohalli: Stadium in Salo

Salohalli does not look like much from the outside: a low block of concrete and brick set back from **Pormestarinkatu 5**. It opened in **1998**, designed by **Jukka Siren**. The main hall holds **1,612** fixed seats. The floor is synthetic **Mondo** in the athletics wing, **sugar maple** in the dance studio, and a multi-purpose sports surface.

On **January 5, 2025**, the hall recorded an attendance of **2,524** for a match between **Salon Vilpas** and **Kataja Basket**, part of an **AND1** junior tournament.

**Erika Vikman** played here in **2024**; **Stratovarius** are scheduled for **2026**. In **2009**, the venue hosted a **Davis Cup** tie between **Finland** and **Cyprus**, a moment when the quiet town briefly looked like a tennis stage.

The complex also contains a bowling alley and gymnastics facilities, managed by the **City of Salo**. It is not an ice rink, though **Salo** has another arena for that purpose.
