Sawston Community Stadium

Sawston Community Stadium sits on ground that once held a waste tip.

What is visible now is a clean, modern layout with natural grass for the league matches and a separate 3G pitch at the side for training sessions. The capacity sits at 3,000, which is enough for a club that still plays in the National League South but has seen crowds that were larger when they were at their old home. The opening fixture against Tilbury brought 1,459 people through the turnstiles on 30 November 2024.

The name changed once during construction when FWD-IP, an Ely-based communications firm, took the sponsorship deal in July 2022, making it the FWD-IP Community Stadium. Money came from the Football Foundation, Cambridgeshire FA, the Football Stadia Improvement Fund and the Premier League, mostly for the 3G pitch and the floodlights. The attendance record inside the new ground is 2,640, set during a Cambridge Derby against Cambridge United on 5 July 2025.
