Sportcomplex De Damburg sits in Bocholt, tucked away at Brogelerweg 59. It is not a cathedral of sport; it is a functional box for indoor games, built on the site of older facilities and named after the nearby manor house. The complex opened in 2010, replacing what came before it.

Inside, the space is divided. Hall 1 holds just over six hundred seats, while Hall 2 offers a sprawling 32 by 28 metre court. The retractable stands are modest, bringing the total capacity to 1,539. It is enough for a local derby, but rarely seen beyond the region. The surface is hard, typical for the sports played here: handball and volleyball. It does not weather the rain, but it does not need to.

Achilles Bocholt calls this place home. They play in the Eerste Nationale and the BENE-League, moving through the seasons in a quiet rhythm. Axor Bocholt, the volleyball side, has used the venue since the 2010–11 season. There is no former tenant to mention; the ground has not changed hands or name. The sports café inside was reopened in February 2026, a small update to an older fixture.

The atmosphere shifts when the stakes rise. In May 2017, the hall fell silent as Achilles Bocholt faced Tongres in the decisive third match of the Belgian Handball Play-off finals. The crowd packed the stands, described as "archi-comble," watching the home side secure a 36–30 victory and their second consecutive title. That night, the history between them added an edge to the game. Later, the venue hosted EHF European Cup qualifiers, with visitors like RK Partizan Tivat turning up in driving rain to play on the indoor court.

It is not only for sport. The "Rijhal De Damburg" hosts the annual "BeachParty Bocholt" hardstyle festival, where artists like Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike draw crowds far larger than the sporting capacity would suggest. The ground changes shape at the break, swapping players for dancers, but the concrete floor remains the same.
