Sportovní hala Bospor
Bohumín, Czechia
It is an open-frame steel structure with a gable roof, built on the site of a former dog training ground. The City of Bohumín paid for the project, and the steel came together between 2013 and 2014. It is not a grand arena; it is a functional space with a capacity of roughly 200 seats.
Inside, the floor is a mix of surfaces. The main court has a polyurethane layer for basketball, volleyball, and handball, while a separate section covers the floor with fifth-generation artificial turf for nohejbal. A tennis court with an acrylic surface and a badminton hall complete the layout. The primary tenant is the 1. SC Bohumín 98 handball club, which uses the hall for regional league matches and daily training sessions.
In September 2024, floodwaters swept through the ground floor, causing significant damage and forcing a closure for repairs. It also hosts the annual Open Bohumín international chess festival and regional senior badminton tournaments. Youth ice hockey teams use the space for practice, even though the senior squad plays elsewhere.
There is no attendance record for major finals, and no former names to track.
