It is not the standard saw-tooth arrangement of stands found in many regional grounds; instead, a continuous, curved canopy wraps around the entire perimeter, sheltering the seats from the Salzburg weather. The structure looks cut from a single piece of metal, sweeping down to meet the buildings that line the lower tiers. This is not a stadium built for grand occasions, but the design gives it a solidity that belies its size.

The seating is arranged in a tight rectangle, with the terraces sitting just a few rows back from the touchline. There is no running track, which means the noise generated by a local derby has nowhere to dissipate. The pitch itself is natural grass, maintained to a level that allows for a technical game, a fact made obvious by the visits of foreign teams during summer training camps. FC Dinamo București played friendly matches here in 2012, testing their fitness against the wind that sweeps down from the Austrian Alps.

When SK Bischofshofen played Grazer AK in the Austrian Nationalliga in the 1971–72 season, the capacity was effectively doubled by the travelling supporters. That match remains a reference point for the club’s past, a time when the town’s team stood on the brink of the highest tier. Since then, the club has cycled through the lower leagues, and the stadium has remained a constant presence in the town centre, visible from the surrounding residential streets.

The floodlights were installed in 1967, allowing for evening fixtures long before the modern era. The capacity is listed at 2,500 in some records, though others suggest a lower figure, a discrepancy that does not matter in practice; the ground feels full regardless of the number.
