SWISS Arena
Kloten, Switzerland
Formerly: Eishalle Schluefweg, Kolping Arena, Stimo Arena
The SWISS Arena sits at Schluefweg 20 in Kloten. The building has been here since 1952, when the community built an open-air rink. It was not until 1977 that a roof finally went up, and a major reconstruction in 1997 gave the structure its current shape.
The most striking feature is the steel roof structure visible in the rafters. Inside, the artificial ice surface measures 60m by 30m. The capacity is 7,624, split between 2,300 standing areas and 5,324 seats.
The arena has undergone several name changes due to sponsorship, including Kolping Arena, Stimo Arena, and finally settling back on SWISS Arena in 2024. A concert by Romeo Santos took place here in 2018, and the venue has hosted the Cybathlon multiple times. However, the primary purpose remains the Swiss National League hockey matches played by EHC Kloten.
The longest game in Swiss hockey history occurred on April 17, 2018, between EHC Kloten and SCRJ Lakers. It lasted 102 minutes and 32 seconds. The overall attendance record for the venue is 8,011, set during a Unihockey Super Final in 2017 between SV Wiler-Ersigen and UHC Alligator Malans.
