The SZK Diesel-Arena opened in 2011, designed by Croatian architects who brought a specific vision to the industrial city of Penza. It hosts everything from the Supreme Hockey League (VHL) to local MMA events.
The most significant change to its character came in June 2020, when it was renamed SZK Diesel-Arena named after A.V. Kozhevnikov.
Its history is marked by moments that transcended sport. The highest attendance for a hockey match, 4,440 spectators, was recorded in 2016 during a game against Saryarka from Karaganda. But the arena’s utility extends beyond the ice. It has hosted concerts by major Russian stars like Stas Mikhailov and Sofia Rotaru, and the "Battle on the Sura - 7" MMA tournament in 2018, which drew UFC champion Khabib Nurmagomedov to the region. These events prove the arena’s versatility.
