Built on the site of the old Sala Polivalentă Unirea, the venue opened its doors in August 2022, bringing a modern wooden sports floor to the Unirea sports complex.
What makes the place distinct from the football pitches outside is the tension in the air when the women's handball side, CS Gloria Bistrița-Năsăud, are in action. They play in the Liga Florilor MOL, and the support at home is fierce. The arena became the home of the 2026 Supercupa României for both men's and women's handball, and the women's final saw Gloria take the title from Corona Brașov 31-18.
It is not only for handball. The space has hosted Dynamite Fighting Show 23 in June 2024, a kickboxing night with Remy Bonjasky and Peter Aerts in the main event. The crowd was large for an indoor bout, with nearly 4,000 people expected. The arena sits on Strada Aerodromului nr. 33. There is no website of its own, but the club Gloria 2018 Bistrița-Năsăud manages the schedule and the events that fill the calendar.
