The Athletic Ground
Wells, United Kingdom
Wells City F.C. has played here since 1893, leaving the Recreation Ground when the move was made. The club has stayed put since then, despite a plan in 2006 to sell the site to Persimmon Homes to clear a debt. A council covenant kept the land in sporting use, so the ground remained a home rather than becoming a housing development. The club reached the fourth qualifying round of the FA Cup in 1954–55, losing to Newport I.O.W. after beating Radstock Town 4–0. They won the Somerset Premier Cup in 2015–16 and faced Bodmin Town in the FA Vase second round proper in 2024–25, winning 5–2.
The capacity is listed as 1,500, though some sources say 1,000. The ground has never been rebuilt for a tournament.
