The Simarco Stadium

The ground sits on Spa Road in Witham, a site the club took possession of in 1975 after a decade of bouncing between a cow pasture and the Crittall Windows works. It is a site of natural grass flanked by terraces, holding a record crowd of 1,205 for a league match against Gorleston in March 2026. That figure eclipsed the previous mark of 898, set in 2014 when Witham Town secured promotion to the Isthmian Premier Division with a play-off victory over Harlow Town. The stadium’s identity has shifted with the local economy. Originally the Spa Road Stadium, it became The Village Glass Stadium, then the Spicer McColl Stadium, before settling on The Simarco Stadium in July 2019 following a deal with the logistics firm Simarco International Ltd. Floodlights arrived in 1984, inaugurated by a friendly against Colchester United. The venue is not solely for the home side; Romford F.C. used it as a temporary home in 2020 while their own facility was closed. It is a ground that has hosted its share of community events, including the Tolleshunt D’Arcy Memorial Cup Final in July 2024 against Chelmsford City. It also bears the quiet weight of local celebrity: pop star Olly Murs played semi-professionally here for Witham Town before his music career took off. The club remains in the Isthmian League North Division, using the ground to support seven adult teams and twenty-nine youth sides under the Essex County Grass Roots Moving Forward Strategy.
