It is tucked into the Höhenberg district of Dormagen, merely one hall among several that make up the wider TSV Bayer complex. Where other arenas boast of their age, this one is defined by its function as a dedicated arena for handball, a sport that demands a different kind of attention than football.

The hall replaced older facilities, funded by a mix of corporate money from Bayer AG and local government contributions. Inside, the atmosphere is tight. The venue has hosted specific tournaments for younger players, including the semi-finals of the 2025 EHF Youth Club Trophy. These matches moved on to the Lanxess Arena in Cologne for the final, but the semi-finals here were played in driving rain of support from the local youth squads. The B-Jugend and A-Jugend teams play their home fixtures in this hall, where the noise is contained and sharp rather than drifting away into the night.

There is no attendance record to quote, and no need to speculate on one. Recent matches have drawn crowds of around 2,000, a number that fits comfortably within the standing and seated sections. The facility is not a temple of football, nor is it a cathedral of sport.
