Victoria Ground

What makes the place distinct is its longevity; it has been used for football since 1885, long before the current tenants arrived. The ground is not large, but it is defined by that continuity.

The Southern League Premier Division Central club Bromsgrove Sporting F.C. play here. The older side had reached the Football Conference, a level the modern outfit has not matched, but the infrastructure remains. The main stand is a simple structure, seating perhaps 400 or 500 people, which reflects the scale of the league below the National League.

Admission is limited to 3,500, a figure that has dropped since the days when the ground held nearly 5,000 for Rovers. The surface is natural grass, kept in good condition despite the weather. The venue is also shared with Worcester City F.C. and FC United of Manchester, so the pitch sees more than one local side.

It is often referred to by its sponsored name, the UK Electrical Stadium. There is no grand architecture here, no modern bowl or covered terraces. It is a working ground for amateur and semi-professional football, where the connection between the club and the town predates the current setup by more than a century.
