Zimní stadion města Nového Jičína

The Zimní stadion města Nového Jičína sits on a site that was originally an open-air ice rink when it opened in 1973. That configuration lasted until 1980, seven years later, when a roof was finally placed over the ice. The building itself was extensively renovated between 2019 and 2020. That work replaced the roof, modernized the gas boiler room, and installed new audio-visual technology, all for an estimated 52 million Czech koruna.

The ground is owned by the City of Nový Jičín and serves as the home for HK Nový Jičín, a club founded in 1946 which has played under several names before settling on its current one in 2014. They currently compete in the 2. liga – sk. Východ, the third tier of Czech hockey. The venue itself holds 2,000 spectators. The club has seen periods of stronger support; average attendance reached 884 spectators during the 2023/2024 season, a figure that has since dropped to 378 for the 2025/2026 campaign.

Beyond ice hockey, the arena has hosted a variety of events. It was the location for the 2018 World Cup for Masters and Veterans inline hockey teams, where the Czech veterans' team won gold. Concerts have also taken place on the premises, including performances by Slade in June 2022 and bands Olympic and Wohnout in May 2024. The children's festival Fest Pohádka was held here in 2022 as well.
