About

The Jordan FA Cup, widely referred to as the Jordan Cup, operates as the premier knockout tournament for football in the country. Organised by the Jordan Football Association (JFA), the competition began in 1980, making it older than the professional era many associate with the sport locally. Al-Faisaly stands as the most successful club in the history of the competition, having secured the trophy 20 times. Al-Wehdat follows as the second-most successful side with 13 titles, and they currently hold the title after defeating Al-Hussein SC on penalties in the 2024–25 final.

For the 2025–26 season, the structure includes a Preliminary Round for Second Division teams before joining a Round of 32. This stage features 14 clubs from the top flight, several from the First Division, and four qualifiers. From that point onwards, all matches are single-leg ties played at neutral venues. Extra time and penalty shootouts decide drawn games, while the away goals rule is not applied. The previous season saw a condensed format due to the cancellation of the Second Division, resulting in a Round of 16.

Victory in this cup carries significant weight beyond domestic pride. The winner earns a place in the AFC Champions League Two, formerly known as the AFC Cup. This continental opportunity separates the tournament from the Jordan Super Cup, which is a single match between the league champion and the cup winner. There is no promotion or relegation linked to the cup itself, as it functions purely as a knockout competition rather than a league system.
