FH women secured a 2-0 win against Apollon Limassol in the first qualifying round semi-finals of the UEFA Women's Champions League on 26 August 2026. The Icelandic side took control early, with two goals before half-time putting them firmly in the driving seat.
H. Errington opened the scoring in the 37th minute, and A. Hauksdottir doubled the lead shortly after with a goal in the 43rd. Apollon had nothing to show for the remainder of the first half, and FH carried that momentum into the second period.
Both managers made changes around the hour mark. Apollon brought on E. Giannou and L. Higgins in the 60th minute, while FH responded with H. Haraldsdottir and D. Sandoval. The visitors also saw three yellow cards — Haraldsdottir at 45+3, Linnet at 69, and Hudson at 86 — but none of them disrupted their performance.
By then the statistics told the full story. FH registered 126 attacks to Apollon's 94, and their shot accuracy sat at 0.80 compared to 0.57. They hit the target eight times with only two shots off target, while Apollon managed four on target and three wide. Possession was marginally higher for the visitors at 54 per cent.
The result means FH advance from this stage with two goals and a clean sheet to their name. Apollon's recent form — including a 2-1 victory over Valladosol — was not enough to trouble a side that found a way back into it and closed the game out.
