UEFA Women's Champions League 2026/27

The UEFA Women's Champions League is the premier European club football competition for women, organized by UEFA. Founded in 2001, the tournament began as the UEFA Women's Cup before adopting its current name in 2009 to align with the men's tournament. It sits at the top of the European club pyramid, with qualification determined by domestic league performance and UEFA country coefficients.

The competition distinguishes itself through its international scope and prestige, being distinct from domestic leagues and the second-tier UEFA Women's Europa Cup. As of the 2025–26 season, the format features a 74-team competition. Eighteen teams compete in the main League Phase, which utilises a Swiss-system format where each team plays six matches. The top four teams in this phase advance directly to the Quarter-finals, while teams ranked fifth–12th enter knockout play-offs. The final is a single match, with no promotion or relegation to domestic leagues, though teams eliminated in qualifying rounds may transfer to the Europa Cup.

Olympique Lyonnais holds the record for success with eight titles, dominating the competition between 2011 and 2020. The current champion is FC Barcelona Femení, who secured their fourth title in the 2025–26 season by defeating Lyon. Notable history includes Wolfsburg's 2013 upset and record attendances at Camp Nou in 2022. The tournament features clubs such as Agram Women, Ajax Women, Anderlecht Women, Apollon Limassol Women, Aris Women, and Athlone Town Women.
