Malmö FF's women's side spent the 2025 season in Damallsvenskan, the top flight. The team won its league every season from 2020 onward — Division 4, then Division 3 Sydvästra Skåne, Division 2 Södra Götaland, Division 1 Södra, and finally Elitettan in 2024, which carried them up.

The team exists by a vote. Members of the men's club decided in November 2019 to build a women's side of their own, and the section that had operated under the Malmö FF name from 1970 was no longer theirs to claim: it broke away in 2004, later became LdB FC Malmö, and in 2014 was folded into FC Rosengård.

The first competitive meeting between them in Damallsvenskan came on 8 August 2025 at Malmö IP, and Anna Plantin settled it on 86 minutes. Malmö won 1–0.
