Anyone arriving in the ÖFB-Frauenliga with designs on the title has spent a decade running into the same side. The championship has stayed in St. For every other club in the division, the calendar has effectively been built around two fixtures.
The team came out of ASV Spratzern , a Lower Austrian club dating to 1920, which set up a women's section in 2006. Growth showed first in the name: by 2013 the side was playing as FSK St. Pölten-Spratzern, and on 17 June 2016 it was folded into SKN St. Pölten, the men's professional club in the provincial capital. The trophies had already started arriving before that merger.
Home is the NV Arena , shared with the men's side, holding 8,000 and configurable up to 13,000 for bigger nights. The club plays in blue, yellow and red.
The most concentrated stretch ran from 2014–15 to 2018–19, when St. Pölten took the league and the ÖFB Ladies Cup in the same season five years in a row.
