Sporting CP Women

Sporting play their league football at the Estádio Aurélio Pereira, a small ground inside the club's training base at Alcochete. The two titles they do hold came at the start: 2016–17 and 2017–18, the first seasons after the team came back into existence.

That return had a date and a cause. On 12 June 2016 the Portuguese Football Federation invited Primeira Liga clubs into a new national women's championship, and Sporting, under president Bruno de Carvalho, put a team back on the pitch. They won the championship in the first year of it.

The team had existed before. Sousa Cintra started it in October 1991, with Diamantino Batista as the first coach and a first match on 24 November of that year. In 1994 the club opened an academy for women's football, the first in Portugal to do so. On 1 August 1995 Santana Lopes closed the team down to cut costs.

Micael Sequeira is the current head coach. Mariana Cabral had the job before him. Among the squad, Neuza Besugo has the longest association with the second era — the Portugal midfielder played here from 2017 to 2022, left, and came back in 2026. Ana Capeta went the other way, to Juventus in 2024.

The three Taça de Portugal wins are spread differently from the league titles: 2016–17, 2017–18, then 2022. The derby with Benfica, the Dérbi Eterno, was played for the first time in the women's game on 19 October 2019.
