Metalist 1925 Women

The title arrived early in May 2026, with games still left to play.

That name came in 2024. Before it, the team spent almost two decades as Zhytlobud-1, a side set up in 2006 on the initiative of Oleksandr Kharchenko, who chaired the board of the Kharkiv construction trust that gave the club its name. It is not the legal heir of the old men's Metalist, which folded in 2016, but when the rebrand came the choice fell on Metalist 1925 and the year in it points back to that Kharkiv history. The badge is shared with the men's club, the two run as one structure, and the colours are yellow and dark blue.

The cup years cluster: 2013 through 2016 without a break, then 2018 through 2021.

Natalia Zinchenko took over as head coach in June 2025 on a two-year deal. Her squad draws heavily on the national team — Lidiia Zaborovets, Lesia Olkhova and Milena Ivanchenko among them.

What the club no longer has is Kharkiv. Home matches have not been played there since 2024. The Olimpiiets ground in Liubotyn served for years; in 2025/26 the listed home venue was Kolos in Boryspil. The men's team still uses the Metalist stadium in Kharkiv. The women's side does not.
