Forest Green — Swindon Town: 1:4, Friendlies Clubs

Swindon Town made light work of Forest Green in a friendly on Friday evening, winning 4-1 at the New Lawn. The visitors were clinical in front of goal while the hosts found it difficult to contain their attacking threat throughout the match. It was an emphatic result for Swindon, who took the lead almost immediately and never looked back after that early breakthrough.

Forest Green's only goal came through A. Drinan in the eighth minute, but Swindon responded quickly with P. Glatzel finding the net in the ninth. The visitors doubled their advantage through Glatzel again in the 47th minute before B. Middlemas and R. Rees added further goals in the second half. By then, the contest had become little more than a formality.

Forest Green enjoyed 55% possession but their 88 attacks yielded just one goal, while Swindon managed 80 attacks to score four times. The home side earned more corners and throw-ins, but couldn't convert their territorial advantage into meaningful chances. Swindon's efficiency in front of goal was the difference between the two sides.

Forest Green have now played five friendlies, with results including a win against Bristol City and a heavy defeat to Cardiff. Swindon's recent form shows inconsistency, with victories against Leyton Orient and a disappointing loss to Crystal Palace among their last five matches. This result suggests Swindon may be finding their rhythm ahead of the new season.
