Hradec Králové Edge Past Kladno in Friendlies
Hradec Králové saw off Kladno 2-0 in a club friendly on Thursday evening. T. Cvancara was the sole marksman, netting twice in the first half to secure the result. The match took place at the home ground as part of pre-season preparations.
The opening moment arrived in the 32nd minute when Cvancara found the back of the net for his side. He doubled the advantage shortly before the break, scoring again in the 43rd minute. Kladno could not respond and were unable to trouble the Hradec defence after that.
By then, Hradec had established control of the fixture. Kladno had not travelled to make up the numbers — this was a genuine test of fitness and shape rather than anything more. The visitors kept knocking on the door but found nothing to come through.
Cvancara's brace tells you everything about the evening. He is clearly finding his rhythm ahead of the competitive campaign. Two goals in twenty minutes is not bad going for a friendly, and it suggests he is ready for whatever comes next.
Form for both sides heading into this window tells an interesting story. Hradec came from a 2-1 defeat to Příbram and a 0-0 draw against Plzeň, while Kladno had been involved in some high-scoring affairs — including a 3-3 draw with Táborisko.
The result leaves Hradec with momentum going forward. Two clean sheets in a row would not be a bad thing to build on. Kladno will need to address the defensive frailties that have been evident in recent outings.
