Lokeren-Temse beat Dender 3-0 in a club friendly on Friday, August 1st. The hosts opened the scoring early and saw out the match without conceding. By then the visitors had already begun to look uncomfortable in possession.
V. R. Mabanza struck in the first minute to set the tone. The goal came before Dender had time to settle into any rhythm. Lokeren-Temse never let the advantage slip.
The second goal arrived in the thirty-fourth minute, extending the lead and shifting momentum further. Dender tried to respond but found themselves chasing the game for much of the half. To be fair, they did not travel to make up the numbers, but the result told its own story.
A third goal in the eighty-first minute sealed the victory and confirmed the clean sheet. The visitors managed more attacks overall but could not convert their opportunities. And here's the thing: five shots on target mean nothing if you cannot put one past the keeper.
Lokeren-Temse held 55 per cent possession and made 37 attacks, while Dender registered 43 attacks with 45 per cent of the ball. The hosts earned three corners against six for the visitors, but the shot count tells a different truth. The result suggests Dender wasted their possession.
For Lokeren-Temse this follows a mixed run of friendlies, including a 1-2 loss to NAC Breda and a 4-0 win over Sint-Denijs Sport. Dender have struggled more recently, losing 1-2 to Zulte Waregem and 1-2 to Cercle Brugge. The scoreline leaves little doubt about who performed better.
