Zabovresky secured a narrow 70-60 victory over Pardubice 2 at home in the First League on Thursday evening. The result leaves the hosts with something to build on as the season progresses, while the visitors saw their second-place standing tested but not overturned.
And here's the thing about this one — we had called a home win at fifty per cent confidence before kick-off. It came through, though not without resistance from a Pardubice side that had won twelve of eighteen league games already.
To be fair, the visitors didn't make it easy. They had been competitive in their recent outings, including a 80-77 win over Litomerice and an 85-69 triumph against Valtelnici Decin. This time they fell just short of matching their opponents' intensity.
By then, the scoreline told the story clearly enough. Seventy goals to sixty — not a runaway, but a result earned through steadier hands when it mattered most.
The table shift is minimal. Pardubice 2 remain second after eighteen matches, still with six defeats to their name and no draws in their record. The gap at the top hasn't changed meaningfully.
For Zabovresky, this adds momentum to a campaign that has seen mixed results. They beat Karvina twice in mid-May, lost heavily to Sokol Praha, and now pick up a solid away-test win.
