Inter Confirm 23-Man Champions League List A Squad
Inter registered their UEFA squad by the 2 September deadline, capped at 23 on List A after falling one short of the eight locally trained players required for 25.
UEFA allows a maximum of 25 players on List A, provided at least eight are locally trained. Inter have only seven who qualify, so their ceiling drops to 23 rather than the full 25. Those seven are Ivan Provedel, Raffaele Di Gennaro, Alessandro Bastoni, Federico Dimarco, Mattia Marello, Nicolo Barella and Piotr Zielinski, who moved to Italy at 16 to join Udinese.
The 21-year-old Esposito, born 28 June 2005, qualifies on the same grounds after an uninterrupted spell at the club.
The rest of List A is built around Josep Martinez in goal, a back line of Stones, Manuel Akanji, Benjamin Pavard, Carlos Augusto, Yann-Aurel Bisseck and Spence, a midfield featuring Zielinski, Petar Sucic, Luis Henrique, Andy Diouf, Hakan Calhanoglu, Jones, Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Barella, and a front line of Marcus Thuram, Lautaro Martinez and Ange-Yoan Bonny.
All clubs in UEFA competition had to file their squads by the end of 2 September, a day after the summer window closed across most of Europe. Inter have not disclosed the remaining names on their List B.
