Cunha's late deflected goal earns Man Utd 1-1 draw at Fulham

United's late resistance spared Ten Hag's side a third defeat in a week going into the international break.

United had trailed since the 67th minute, when Lisandro Martinez turned the ball past his own goalkeeper. Alex Iwobi's shot was deflected into Martinez's path, and his instinctive touch wrong-footed Bernd Leno, who did not get across in time. Sky Sports' Gary Neville called it "a real mess".

The equaliser came off a Rashford header. It followed the midweek Carabao Cup home defeat by Brighton and the Manchester derby loss the weekend before.

The point leaves United in the bottom half of the table after five games, 10 points behind leaders City. By its account, the own goal came in the one spell where United's approach made sense: Ten Hag had switched to hitting Fulham on the counter after an open first half.

For Fulham, it was still no first Premier League win under Marco Silva. They do climb off the bottom, which leaves Tottenham 19th with 2 points from 5 games.
