Shalimov breaks down Dynamo Moscow's win over Rostov
Ex-Krasnodar coach Shalimov praised Dynamo's tactics in the 3:0 win but warned against euphoria, saying the club has won nothing yet.
Igor Shalimov, the former Krasnodar and Fakel coach, has picked apart the tactics behind Dynamo Moscow's 3:0 win over Rostov in the Alfa-Bank RPL, and his praise for the performance came with a warning attached.
Dynamo settled into a shape with two holding midfielders, with wide men Artur and Gladyshev tucking inside and leaving room for the full-backs to push on. Osipenko, Shalimov noted, has sharpened up defensively, while Konstantin Tyukavin is now getting the service he has wanted all season and finishing it — either scoring himself, as he did in the move that led to the opening goal, or winning penalties.
Rostov pressed for the first five minutes, by his account, and could not get the ball back after that.
Shalimov said.
Dynamo have taken 19 points from nine Alfa-Bank RPL matches and sit third in the table.
