Marseille's worst start to a season since 2011

It is the club's worst start to a season since 2011/2012, when they had three points after six matches; this time it is three points after five, and four defeats in the first five league games has never happened before in the club's history.

"Same problems, same consequences as in the last match. We conceded again from a loose ball after a set-piece, we lost our concentration again. We played the first half well, but unfortunately we could not repeat that after the break and played much more without the ball. Even so, we did manage to equalise, and that was not easy to do. But two minutes later we lost a bit of concentration, perhaps still under the influence of emotion. It is very frustrating to concede a goal like that. If we had conceded from a move PSG are capable of producing — three passes, creating a numerical advantage, unbalancing the defence — that would be one thing. But to concede from a loose ball, and to lose concentration like that, is a huge disappointment and regret, because we are not learning quickly enough from our mistakes. They have the quality to find space and create imbalance. You cannot concede a goal like that two minutes after equalising. Looking at the full 90 minutes, even though we defended more in the second half, I think we deserved at least a point. Those are exactly the moments when we need to be more resilient psychologically," Génésio said.

On his own position, he added: "It's funny, everyone wishes me luck. I'm a coach, and of course we depend on the team's results and performances, especially at a club like Marseille. That isn't enough — I take my share of the responsibility, as others will have to take theirs too."
