Marit Lund double sinks Juventus in Benfica win
The Norwegian defender scored twice from set pieces, a penalty and a direct free-kick, as Benfica beat Juventus 2-1 in their Women's Champions League opener.
The Norwegian defender converted a penalty and then curled home a direct free-kick, both with her left foot. It took her tally for the season to four, already more than she managed in her previous two campaigns at Benfica combined, with a further goal in the Supertaça and one in the Liga BPI.
Named player of the match, Lund pointed to the work behind the second goal.
She also set the result against last season's record, when Benfica took two draws and four defeats from their group games.
She had a word too for the opponents.
A win away to Juventus in the opening round gives Benfica a base to build on in the league phase, after a debut campaign in the competition that yielded no victories.
