Bayern Munich plan Michael Olise deal until 2032

Bayern Munich are preparing an offer that would keep Michael Olise at the Allianz Arena until 2032, according to Bild, with the German champions determined to head off interest from Liverpool and Real Madrid.

The proposed deal would be worth around €25m net per season, placing the 24-year-old among the club's best-paid players alongside Harry Kane and Jamal Musiala. Olise's current contract runs until June 2029, and any new terms could take effect as early as next summer.

Talks are expected to be difficult. Olise wants a release clause inserted into any extension, reportedly in the region of €200m, and his representative, Glen Tweneboah, is set to open negotiations with the Bayern hierarchy shortly. Bayern have previously indicated that even a bid above €200m would not necessarily be enough to prise him away, but a release clause would hand the initiative to Olise rather than the club.

Real Madrid identified him as a target earlier this year before turning to Yan Diomande, while Liverpool have been linked as a possible successor to Mohamed Salah on the right of attack, a position still open at Anfield despite the club's depth on the left. Salah has since left Liverpool's ranks to rejoin Egypt's squad.

Since arriving from Crystal Palace for €53m in July 2024, Olise has scored 50 goals and set up 58 more in 114 appearances for Bayern. Last season alone brought 22 goals and 31 assists in 57 games, and he has continued in the same vein this term with eight goals and four assists from his first seven outings, form that has put him in the conversation for the 2026 Ballon d'Or even in a campaign built around Kane.

He underlined that form for France on Monday, coming off the bench against Belgium and scoring the only goal in the 88th minute after a driving run from his own half, sealing a 1-0 Nations League win in which France had 65% of possession and seven shots on target. It was his fourth goal for the national side since March.

France's win continues a productive September for French clubs and players in the market, following moves for Kylian Mbappé's security, Bradley Barcola's transfer to Liverpool and Élisa De Almeida's switch to Arsenal, though none of those bear directly on Olise's contract situation.

Should the release clause be agreed, Olise's long-term future at Bayern may still hinge less on the length of his contract than on the price at which he could leave it.
