A. Caballeros

Axel Cabellos played for Argentina at under-17 level in 2023. Within a year he was wearing the shirt of Peru, appearing for the under-20 side across 2024 and 2025. Born in Buenos Aires, in San Miguel, he holds both Argentine and Peruvian nationality, and the switch of allegiance is the line that runs through his short career so far.

Everything before it belonged to Racing Club. He spent his entire youth career at the Argentine club and signed his first professional contract there in July 2023. Racing won the Copa Sudamericana in 2024 and Cabellos was attached to the squad during that campaign, though he was chiefly with the youth and second-team set-up rather than the senior side.

The move that took him out of Argentina came in February 2025, when Sporting Cristal took him on a one-year loan from Racing with an option to buy. It was his first senior club affiliation of any kind — before Lima he had never been registered anywhere other than Racing. He was given the number 18 shirt.

He is used at left-back.

Racing retain his registration; Sporting Cristal hold the option.
