Andy Aryel Najar Rodríguez

Andy Najar left Honduras at 13 to join D.C. United's academy, and on 22 March 2010 he signed a professional contract that made him only the second player to graduate straight from that academy into the first team. His rookie season brought 82 appearances and 10 goals, and MLS named him Rookie of the Year.

Anderlecht came calling in 2013, paying roughly $3 million to bring him to Belgium after an initial loan spell. He spent seven seasons there, long enough to become a fixture in a squad that won the Belgian league twice, in 2013/14 and 2016/17, and lifted the Belgian Super Cup in 2014.

A move to LAFC in 2020 gave way to a return to D.C. United a year later as a free agent, before he went home to Honduras in 2024 to sign for CD Olimpia. He won the Clausura title there that year, then added the US Open Cup in 2025 and was voted the club's defender of the year.

His run with the Honduras national team stretched to 65 caps and 5 goals, beginning with his debut against Colombia on 3 September 2011. He represented his country at the 2012 Olympics, the 2014 World Cup and three Gold Cups, and took bronze at the 2013 Gold Cup after scoring against Costa Rica. In November 2025, following Honduras's failed bid to reach the 2026 World Cup, he announced his retirement from international football.

Now at Nashville SC, Najar has already left his mark: in 2025 he became the first player in the club's history to record a hat-trick of assists in a single match, against Chicago Fire.
