About the player
Blake arrived at Philadelphia Union in 2014 as the first overall pick in the MLS SuperDraft, and he has stayed as the club's number one ever since. Before that his path ran through the Jamaican academies Sporting Central Academy and Harbour View, then across to the United States for college football with the Connecticut Huskies.
Blake is the only player in league history to win the MLS Goalkeeper of the Year award three times, picking it up in 2016, 2020 and 2022.
With Jamaica he has long been first choice, appearing close to ninety times for the national side. The high point came with the 2014 Caribbean Cup, and he has twice reached the final of the Gold Cup, in 2015 and 2017, spells that put Jamaican goalkeeping on a stage it rarely gets.
Off the pitch, he returned to May Pen, the town where he was born, to open a sports bar with his wife in 2021 — a small but public tie back to where his career started.
