Birgir Baldvinsson

KA beat Víkingur Reykjavík 2–0 in the Icelandic Cup final on 21 September — the club's first Cup title. Baldvinsson had been at KA, on and off, since he was thirteen.

He joined the academy in 2014 and worked up through the U14, U16 and U19 sides, moving into the senior squad in 2018. The route to regular football then ran away from Akureyri. In September 2020 he went on loan to Leiknir Reykjavík, where he made nine appearances in the second-tier 1. deild karla over the following ten months. A short spell at Afturelding, from July to October 2021, brought eight matches.

The third loan was the one that mattered. Back at Leiknir for the 2022 season, this time in the Besta deild karla, he played 21 matches as the club finished as runners-up in the league. He returned to KA permanently in October 2022 and has been a fixture in the side since.

Internationally, Baldvinsson played for Iceland's under-17s across 2017 and 2018. He has not been capped at senior level.

His career has been built entirely inside the Icelandic system — academy promotion, three loans, a permanent return, none of them involving a transfer fee. No individual awards are on record.
