About the player
Ben Brannan came through Kilmarnock's academy and signed his first professional contract with the club in July 2023, and the right-back has since built his senior career largely at the club. In February 2025 he was sent out on loan to Inverness Caledonian Thistle, where he scored his first professional goal. That experience preceded a second loan move, this time to Queen's Park for the 2026/27 season.
Kilmarnock's faith in Brannan was underlined in August 2025, when he signed a contract extension keeping him at the club until 2028 despite being out on loan. He wears the number 26 shirt and operates as a right-footed right-back, a role that has taken him from the fringes of the first team to regular loan football.
Brannan is Scottish, though his exact birthplace has not been specified in club records. At 173cm, he fits the mould of a modern full-back required to cover ground rather than dominate physically, and his development path — academy graduate, breakthrough loan, contract extension, second loan — reflects a player Kilmarnock see as part of their longer-term plans even while he gains experience away from the club.
