About the player
Brayan Gil took a Baltika scoring record that had stood since 1996. His 13 goals in 2025/26, the club's first season back in the Russian Premier League, passed the 12 that Sergey Bulatov scored 29 years earlier.
He arrived in Kaliningrad on 18 January 2025 for a reported €1.5 million. Baltika were then in the middle of the campaign that ended with the Russian First League title and promotion. By May 2026 he had 43 league appearances for the club and 20 goals in all competitions.
Gil was born in Cali, Colombia, but began his career in El Salvador. At Bruchos de Izalco in 2018 he scored 15 goals in 15 games and was named best scorer of the Salvadoran youth league. A move to FAS followed, where he scored 16 goals in 25 matches. In December 2019 the Legislative Assembly of El Salvador granted him citizenship by decree. He has since played 22 times for the Salvadoran national team and scored five goals.
In 2020 he went on loan to Gent in Belgium but did not make an appearance. He then returned to Colombia with Alianza Petrolera, where he played 82 league matches and scored 12 goals. Early in 2023 he joined Deportes Tolima and became a more regular scorer, with 17 goals in 66 league matches before his move to Russia.
