Csaba Spandler

Csaba Spandler went back in July 2023 to the club where he had spent his youth years. He joined Fehérvár FC, also known as Videoton, on a free transfer and signed a three-year contract. He had come through their academy system from 2005 to 2013, at a time when the club was still known as Fehérvár.

In 2013 he moved to Puskás Akadémia, and a year later he signed his first professional contract there. The spell that followed ran to 2023 and produced more than 170 appearances for the club. It was interrupted only once, in the second half of the 2015–16 season, when he went on loan to Aqvital Csákvár and played 14 times. He returned to Puskás Akadémia in 2016.

For Hungary he came through the age-group ranks. The under-21 side capped him ten times: three friendlies in 2017, then seven matches in qualification for the 2019 UEFA European Under-21 Championship. Those appearances brought no goals.

The closest he came to the senior national team was in May 2021. Marco Rossi included him in a preliminary squad of 30 for Euro 2020, but the final list was cut to 26 and Spandler was not on it.
