About the player
Dimitar Burov made his mark at Slavia Sofia before he had even reached senior football, winning the Bulgarian Cup with the club in the 2017/18 season. He had come through Slavia's own youth ranks after starting out at Levski-Rakovski and then Levski Sofia, and his path to that first honour ran through a loan spell at Spartak Pleven before a longer stint at CSKA 1948.
Burov then spent time away from the capital, turning out for Strumska Slava and Botev Vratsa, before joining Montana in 2021. Across two spells with the club, either side of a brief stop at Fratria, he made more than 140 appearances and scored ten goals. In 2026 he left Montana as a free agent to join Slavia Sofia, the club where he had started out, taking the number 26 jersey.
At international level, Burov represented Bulgaria at under-19 level, earning two caps in 2016.
