About the player
Emanuel Stefan António, known as Stefan, is a product of União de Leiria's own academy, coming through the club's U19 and U23 ranks before his promotion to the senior squad. Born in Mozambique, he holds Mozambican citizenship. In June 2026 he renewed his contract with the club through to 2031, with a release clause set at €50 million.
His numbers in the 2024/2025 season pointed to why the club moved to secure his future: 16 goals and an assist in 38 official appearances, split between the Campeonato Nacional de Júniores and the Liga Revelação. He has continued to feature for the U23 side in the Liga Revelação Sub-23 this season, including an outing against Estrela Amadora Sub-23 in January.
António is already tied to União de Leiria for the long term.
