Frank Opoku Acheampong

Frank Opoku Acheampong's career has been built almost entirely away from Ghana. He spent brief spells at King Faisal Babes and Berekum Chelsea before moving to Thailand, where Buriram United developed his attacking play: 19 goals in 56 appearances contributed to the club collecting the Thai Premier League title along with domestic cup and league cup honours.

That form earned him a move to Anderlecht in 2013 for a €1 million fee, joining one of Belgium's biggest clubs. He stayed four years, made 116 appearances and scored 13 goals, and won the Belgian Pro League twice, in 2013–14 and 2016–17, along with two Belgian Super Cups.

Since 2017, Acheampong's career has run through Chinese football. A loan spell at Tianjin TEDA was productive enough — four goals in 12 games — that the move was made permanent that November. He signed for Dalian Yingbo, also known as Dalian Zhixing, in February 2026.

On the international stage, Acheampong won 23 caps for Ghana between 2012 and 2018, scoring twice. He was part of the squad that reached the final of the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations and the last four of the 2017 edition, and he also featured for Ghana at the 2013 FIFA U-20 World Cup, where the team finished third.
