About the player
José María Pérez García, known as Farru, moved to CD Tondela in July 2026 on a free transfer, signing a two-year contract that runs until June 2028.
Farru began at Lorca FC, the club of his hometown, having come up through the youth ranks at UD Almería and Lorca CF. He joined FC Cartagena in 2020, starting out with the reserve side before working into the first team, where he made 13 appearances and scored once in the 2022–2023 season. From there he moved to CD Alcoyano in August 2023, first on loan and then permanently, and went on to make more than 50 appearances for the club, adding one goal.
In July 2025 he signed for Unionistas de Salamanca as a free agent, making 35 appearances and setting up one goal before his move to Tondela a year later. Primarily a centre-back, Farru's left foot also allows him to fill in at left-back when needed. He has not been capped by Spain at any level.
