Guðmundur Þórarinsson

In his first season at FC Noah, the Armenian club he joined in July 2024, Guðmundur Þórarinsson won both the Armenian Premier League and the Armenian Cup in 2024–25. He left the club, formerly known as FC Artsakh, in January 2026 to sign for ÍA.

A left-back who also plays as a left wing-back, he came through at Selfoss and won the 1. deild karla there in 2009. Two seasons at ÍBV followed before he left Iceland in 2013 for Sarpsborg 08. He spent 2014 to 2016 at FC Nordsjælland, then returned north to Rosenborg BK, where 2016 brought the Eliteserien title and the Norwegian Football Cup in the same year.

From Rosenborg he moved to IFK Norrköping in 2017 and stayed three seasons. In 2020 he crossed to New York City FC on a free transfer, one of the few moves in his career with a documented fee arrangement, and won the MLS Cup in 2021. Shorter stops at AaB and then OFI Crete occurred between 2021 and 2024.

With Iceland he has been a fixture since the youth ranks, collecting 32 caps across the under-17, under-18, under-19 and under-21 sides. His senior debut came in 2014, and by 2026 he had 16 caps for the national team, without a goal.
