Gustav Mendonça Wikheim

Wikheim's career has traced a long loop back to where it started. He came through the youth ranks at Hokksund IL before joining Strømsgodset Toppfotball, making his senior debut in 2011 and scoring 16 goals in 89 league appearances. In 2013 he was part of the Strømsgodset side that won the Eliteserien title, still the only major senior trophy of his career.

That success took him abroad in December 2015, when Belgian club KAA Gent paid around €1.6 million for him. He made just two league appearances before he was sent on loan to FC Midtjylland in August 2016. The Danish club made the move permanent the following year for €500,000, and Wikheim became a regular starter there, scoring 11 goals in 71 league games and winning the Danish Superliga in 2017–18 and the Danish Cup in 2018–19.

In September 2019 he moved to Saudi Arabia's Al-Fateh, spending three seasons in the Saudi Pro League with 6 goals in 43 appearances. A free transfer took him to Djurgårdens IF in January 2022, where he became an established figure in the Allsvenskan, scoring 11 goals in 72 league appearances over three seasons.

He left Djurgården for FC Nordsjælland, scoring once in 13 appearances before a free transfer in July 2025 brought him back to Strømsgodset, the club where his senior career began. Wikheim has never been capped by Norway's senior national team, though he came through the age-group ranks at U18, U19, U21 and U23 level.
