About the player
Higor Vidal built his career far from where it started. After coming through the youth ranks at Santos and Porto, he set out on a route through Europe's smaller leagues, signing for PAS Giannina in Greece, where he stayed for three seasons.
From there his path became a tour of leagues rarely linked together: Lithuania with FK Žalgiris, Israel with Hapoel Petah Tikva, then back to Greece with Anagennisi Karditsa. He then moved further afield still, to Indonesia's Persebaya Surabaya, South Africa's TS Galaxy, Iraq's Erbil SC and, most recently, KF Teuta in Albania. Few midfielders of his generation have collected passport stamps from quite so many footballing corners.
That well-travelled career has now brought him to China, where he joined Shijiazhuang Gongfu — the club previously known as Hebei Kungfu — wearing the number 10 shirt. Vidal has not represented Brazil at senior international level.
He plays predominantly as an attacking midfielder, a role suited to his left foot, and at 173 cm he is built more for craft than physical dominance in the middle of the park. Transfer fees across his various moves have largely gone undisclosed, with several of his switches coming as free transfers — a reflection of a career built on opportunity and adaptability rather than marquee deals.
