J. Rioja

Football took Juan Pablo Rioja through most of the Bolivian league's dressing rooms before it settled him anywhere for long. The centre-back, born in Potosí, built his career on movement rather than a single defining club, working through Guabirá, Real Potosí, CA Ciclón, Universitario San Francisco Xavier, Blooming, Nacional Potosí and Independiente Petrolero before joining Real Tomayapo.

The habit of changing addresses says less about instability than about a player who kept finding work wherever a back line needed filling. Two of those stops brought him silverware of a particular kind: the Copa Simón Bolívar, Bolivia's second-tier title, first with Guabirá in the 2012/13 season and again more than a decade later with Real Potosí. Both wins mark promotion-race success rather than a run at the national championship, but they bookend a career that has spent much of its length outside the top flight.

Rioja has not featured for Bolivia's senior national team, and nothing in his public record points to a spell in a club academy or youth setup before turning professional. His path instead reads as a working defender's: solid, well-travelled, and defined less by a single transfer than by the number of shirts he has worn across nearly every region of Bolivian football.
