About the player
Jerónimo Russo came through the Newell's Old Boys academy, signing his first professional contract with the club in April 2023. He was still playing as a winger in the youth ranks as recently as 2022.
Russo made the step up from the youth system into the first-team squad in 2025. He has since become a regular fixture in Newell's Old Boys' side during the 2026 Liga Profesional Apertura, starting 11 of the club's 18 matches and playing 1,066 minutes over the campaign. He wears the number 28 shirt.
His contract with Newell's Old Boys runs to the end of 2029.
